Beto Pinto Toledo UIAGM established Andean Climbing in 1999 in Huaraz, Peru, the capital of mountaineering in South America. We are proud to be recognized for leading the most competitve climbing expeditions in the Andes, as well as offering trekking and mountaineering courses. We are well known for opening new climbing routes and exploring new trekking areas in various lesser-known valleys. We offer you as well as our many repeat clients consistent quality and professionalism and hope that
you will continue to put your confidence in us.
We have strong ethical values and cost out each route subject to the economy of the local market and thus satisfying all our staff and helping tiny mountain communities in which we operate our services. Unfortunately, many companies do not treat their staff properly, and often delay paying their staff for months, if ever.

OUR BACKGROUND: (note from the founder)
I founded Andean Climbing in 1999 after working for 10 years for various companies within Peru. After extensive experience, I was sure I could make valuable improvements and operate on my own - this next step seemed logical development within my profession. I took my first group trekking the Santa Cruz route, then up glaciated Mt. Pisco...later, more and more mountains. 2007 was the year that things really started picking up pace, and I found the need to recruit new trekking guides for both my climbing and trekking operations.

The following years have reached beyond our expectations. We have organized the first commercial expedition on Mt. Huantsan (known as the K2 of the Andes) succeeding 100%, as well as guiding and opening new routes in the Cordillera Blanca, Cordillera Huayhuash, Cordillera Vilcanota, Cordillera Vilcabamba, Cordillera Urubamba and the Cordillera Central - the latter having opened up 25 peaks which makes us the most knowledgeable in this lesser-traveled area.

I feel very privileged to have played such an important role in the development of mountaineering, climbing and hiking in Peru. I advise my clients that they do not need to have extensive experience in the mountains - only the passion to learn. We will teach you exactly what you need to know, regardless of your climbing level. I have been fortunate enough to experience travel throughout Europe and for this reason I feel I understand the expectations of my clients so that they comfortable and well taken care of on their trip to Peru.
On behalf of Andean Climbing, our office team, guides, porters, cooks, arrieros and all those whose communities we pass through, we thank you for your continued trust in us and welcome all of our mountaineers, climbers, and trekkers to come enjoy our beautiful culture and mountains in Peru!
